Hot Spots One set of interesting facts about Wi-Fi is about hotspots. Did you know that the U.S has over 40,000 hotspots? That’s not even close to what I was thinking. Also, a hotspot is a site that offers free Wi-Fi. I don’t know about you but I see some restaurants sometimes and the window says “Free Wi-Fi”. That could mean the restaurant is near a hotspot. Hotspots aren’t free moneywise, they can cost up to ten dollars a day! Those are all the basic facts you need to know about hotspots.

Wi-Fi Locations Another set of facts about Wi-Fi is about the locations of Wi-Fi. Let’s start off with New York. New York has about 700 hotspots! You’re more likely to run into hotspot and have connection the whole day in New York! The connection runs slow because everyone uses it. Second, in June 2005 to June 2006, internet use to access information went up by 756%? That’s over 500! Another fact will be describing a hotspot. If you need to describe one I would describe it as the hotspot sending invisible waves to your device like the diagram to the right.

Wi-Fi A final set of facts about Wi-Fi is Wi-Fi itself. The fact I will start off with is that Wi-Fi needs a router to work. If Wi-Fi doesn’t have a router, we can’t use it because it won’t be powered. Another thing you should know about Wi-Fi is to think of Wi-Fi as invisible cords like the diagram below. Think of it as a router in the middle with wires or waves connecting to each device like a phone, a computer, or a tablet. They all need Wi-Fi sometimes.

You learned a quarter of facts about Wi-Fi because there is a lot more you can learn about it. What would we do without it? On my IPad I can’t send messages or even play some games without Wi-Fi and connection. I hope you enjoyed learning about Wi-Fi.

Cass and Katniss have things in common. They also have things they have that are uncommon. What this article is about is comparing and contrasting Cass and Katniss.

First of all, Cass and Katniss are both from two different books. Cass is from “The Secret series” and Katniss is from “The Hunger Games series”. Second, Cass solves a mystery and Katniss competes in the hunger games. Also, the Hunger Games is more of a book that contains killing and weapons and the secret series is more of a mystery book. Now I’ll tell you things that they have in common.

Cass and Katniss are both female heroines which means a female hero. Another example is they both try to protect their families. For example, Cass carries a backpack with her just in case of a natural disaster and Katniss goes hunting with her friend Gale to gather food and she takes care of her family too. They also have male partners. Cass goes with Max-Ernest and Katniss goes with Peeta later on in the book. Another thing they have in common is they both have to stay hidden in parts of the book. For example Cass needs to sty hidden when she goes to the midnight sun and Katniss needs to stay hidden during the Hunger Games.

Cass and Katniss have things in common and they also have things they don’t really have in common. Even though this article had things they have and don’t have in common there are always more things you can find.

Have you ever dribbled the ball to the net getting ready to score when suddenly a boy or girl slides and you trip without the referee calling it a penalty? That happened to me before. That’s what my essay is all about, the safety standards of soccer players.

I believe that soccer players should respect safety standards because anyone who plays the sport could get hurt.  For example, I get hurt at most of my soccer games and it’s usually a stupid accident. I realized that many other players on my team get hurt as well. A few times this season my brother got hurt while he was in. On a website I found in the past 14 years, 1.6 million soccer players got hurt around the world. This isn’t just pros getting hurt this is kids too. Probably half of these injuries lead to kids. One soccer game in 2006 a soccer player named Totti fractured his left leg when he played soccer.

I believe that soccer players should respect safety standards because kids see pros play rough and sometimes it’s an influence. In my division I don’t see players not take the game both fun and serious, you only see some kids take it 100% seriously. A few times I played against a town named Draked and one time a boy scored and he decided to show off and do a few backflips some of my team said that he was a show off. People look up to soccer players sometimes like an idol. This can be bad because kids can try to do a skill move that they do and could get hurt if they mess up. A website I looked at said that the game of soccer should be a balance of fun and competition.

I think soccer players should respect safety standards because we can have less soccer injuries if we be a bit more careful. For example, my friend fitzy said he believes we should wear cups in soccer. I agree because sometimes the ball hits the crotch. Another example I found on a website was as much as soccer is a popular sport, it leads to injuries as well. In California there was one year that 68 soccer players got injured playing the sport. 80% of these injuries led to fractures. I remember one time I was playing a game against Waltham and a very tall kid tripped over me and I fell then he stepped on my kneecap. I got a bruise and a bad cut that was bleeding. I got subbed out. Another example iis another website said be safe and protect yourself when playing soccer.

Remember to always follow the rules when you play the sport soccer. Keep in mind some of the facts that I told you about.

It was one of those blazing Fridays where you parents make you wear short pants, short shirt, and then you get a short haircut. Then you still start to sweat. A day where if you fall down on the sand, you burn until you get boiled. This was a Friday on the beach. I tried to pull out a blanket to block the sand I was sitting on. It was like the heat of the sand just broke through the blanket like a ball of fire. I felt like it was the end of the world, I needed to go into the ocean.

I was riding deep into the ocean, in a raft floating in the ocean. I was all relaxed until this massive wave was coming towards me. I felt fear inside my body. The wave was ginormous compared to me. Then it was about to crash right on top of me. I said in my head, “no turning back now.” I closed my eyes right when the wave was about to crash because I thought it would take me under water. Then when I opened my eyes I wasn’t under water, I was in the air. It felt like I can really fly any time I want! Then that small time I was in the air was just about to end. The bad thing was I was landing straight towards my cousin. After that I crashed into him and we both went straight under water. I was afraid if he was hurt but it turns out my cousin was ok. I couldn’t say he was fine because he gets scared when he goes under water. I got cold so I got out of the water.  That small moment of time could just be my best time in the ocean for all these 10 years!

 I was walking to my cottage with my family just thinking of what things hide from tomorrow. You never know.

I feel the wind blowing the grass and I. As I walk up the creaking stairs I face the door.  I put my hand on the knob as I slowly open the door. I stepped into the haunted house with a chill up my spine. I felt another blast of wind before the doors slammed behind me. Then I heard a sound like “eeeeeeeeeee”! Then the organ started to play. Then I said “maybe it’s just the wind.” Then I heard a voice coming from behind me. It said “you will die here”.  I looked behind me. Nobody was there. I heard the voice again, “you will die here”! I looked behind me again, this time I saw a dead man. I saw a note taped on to the man’s body. It said “this is where you will rest in peace”! I turn back and run to the door. It was locked. Now the door is covered with blood. There is no escape besides the door. I knew I was  trapped here forever.

Izzy, Gabe, Anna, Marissabel, and I were in the pool swimming and having a blast in the pool for a couple of hours. We were swimming and laughing as we got soaked in the water. As we got out of the pool we were sprinting to lunch. Before we went to lunch we stopped at Dunkin Donuts to get a nice cup of warm hot choa-choa. Then we went to lunch. As we went to lunch we could hear this eruption of kids sprinting to lunch. While the girls went to get their own lunch, Gabe and I went to Wendy’s to get our own lunch. We got chicken fries, and chili fries. We split them both. After we left Wendy’s we met the girls to play a game of Soccer. The sun was blazing hot out. We were melting with sweat. The teams were pretty unfair because it was it was Gabe and I, and then the other team was Anna, Izzy, and Marissabel. So at second half we switched the teams. The half’s are usually 30 minutes but everyone was so hot  the second half only lasted about 15 minutes. It was almost the end of the day. It was 1:30. So we left the soccer field and headed to the hot tub. First we got our bathing suits on, second we turned the bubbles on for the hot tub. We wanted to do another thing after this so we only stayed in the hot tub for about a half-hour. We only have 30 minutes left of school. We rushed to GameStop to get a few games. I got an Xbox one, I also got Halo 5. Gabe got Call of Duty Ghosts. The girls didn’t want anything. Then we walked out of school. This was the best day ever in Club Ice Academy! I can’t wait for tomorrow morning!
