This report is about who and how people invented pre-sliced bread. A man named Otto Fredrick Rowedder invented pre-sliced bread in 1928. The bakers thought that his invention was a waste of time but they were wrong. Read on and find out how Rowedder’s invention became a huge success. (About.com) The first thing that I learned is that all of the bakers scoffed at Rowedders’s invention. They knew that if the bread was pre-sliced it would go stale. Back then the people of the town and to buy a loaf of bread and cut the bread themselves. So after that note Rowdder got straight to work. Rowedder tried many times and failed many times. But Rowedder came up with a way not only to slice bread but, to keep it from going stale. Once foot long three foot high invention sliced bread, it would wrap wax paper around the pre-sliced bread, so it wouldn’t go stale. The final thing I learned is that I learned is that the first loaf of pre-sliced bread had gone on shelves on July 7, 1918 as “Sliced Kleen Maid Bread.” The sales quickly skyrocketed and the store owners knew that the invention was a huge success. (About.com) So that is the history of the world famous creation pre-sliced bread. Also who invented the first device to not only cut bread but keep it fresh. So in all that is what happened to pre-sliced bread. Students task was to write a well-structured opinion essay filled with evidence supporting their claims. Special features include:
My little cousin Max was having a friend sleeping over. We were playing limbo. There is a big space between my front hall and my living room. My little cousin and his friend were holding a wooden flag pole that’s as tall as me. Then I decided to jump over the pole. I pushed my mom’s chair over. I ran from my dining room jumped over the pole, I landed on my toes. I wasn’t wearing any shoes so it hurt really bad. I fell to the hard wood floor. My arm hit the ground. I laid there helplessly. You know how when you brake or sprain something and you scream. I’m just not type of person. My aunt saw me laying there I was really pale. My aunt said “What’s wrong?” I stood up holding my left arm. My aunt and I walked into the kitchen. My aunt said that I broke my arm.
My mom got dressed and asked my uncle if he could drive. We got in the car. We4 drove to Winchester Hospital. The nurse was really nice. I took some x-rays. We waited for about 20 minutes. They told us I broke my fore arm in the weakest spot. The weird thing I wasn’t screaming or crying. My mom said I was as pale as a ghost. I was in shock. The nurse and her assistant came in and put me in a temporary cast with a sling. My mom, uncle, and I walk outside, got in the car and drove home.
In my first grade class after we we’re done at the water park we had to read in front of the class and our parents. So our parents hopped on the rollercoaster that went all around town. After we got our books ,it was time to read. When the first child went I felt sick. So I asked my teacher if I could go to the nurses office. My teacher said’’yes, but hustle. ‘’I said’’okay.’’So I hustled to the nurse. She said I was okay. So I skipped back to the classroom. When I read my story I was shaking so bad you would think I was thinking about Antarctica. Check out some outstanding student work from the first homework project of the school year, All About Me.
