I was on the sand waiting for the 9:00am deep water swim with the dolphin. I was impatient as a three year old waiting for a chocolate bar. I had remembered that I could see dolphins jumping, twisting, turning, shaking hands and waving goodbye, from my porch in the Bahamas. Now I get to experience it myself.  

“9:00am deep water dolphin swims.” I hear from a lady behind the counter. I walked into the room where we had to get our special suits on. I tried really hard getting it on. After a 5 minute battle with a wet slippery suit, I finally got it on. The zipper that went up my back was obviously behind me so I was spinning around trying to zip up the zipper; I looked like a complete idiot. Then my trainer asked me if I wanted help. I said “sure thanks.” As if I just ran a 2 mile run and was out of breath. Then we had to sit in a unique orientation which was kind of cool for about 7 minutes. Then it was time, time to swim with the dolphins.

I walked out into the pool, I was so excited, I was about to burst out screaming. My perky young trainer asked me my name, I said “savvy.” I followed my group out into to the beach like pool. There was an inside room where you get your suits on (also the same room as the orientation) then right outside the room, there was a long isle of sand, then there was ALL water. It was really cool. My trainer handed me my snorkel as I was in the water. I didn’t need one at first, so I said “I don’t need one.”

I swam really fast into the deep zone. Then a dolphin named Cosmo came out of nowhere. I was the first one to pet him. Thought were running in and out of my head “does he like me? Will I get to ride on him?” but I kept my face cool like I’ve done it 1,000 times. But that was my first time.

“Would you like to feed him a fish?” my trainer asked me. “Uhh….sure” I said looking puzzled. I had to touch a small slimy 6 inch fish with my bare hands. Cosmo came swimming like a bullet over to me. I wasn’t scared; I’ve seen this kind of stuff on TV before. I didn’t know what trick to make him do. So I shot my hand straight up in the air. Next thing I knew he was standing on his flipper and put on of his fins out. I immediately knew he was trying to shake my hand, so I shook his hand. He opened his mouth wide; I threw the fish like I would throw a tennis ball underhand. He caught it in his mouth like a dog would catch a treat.

That was it for getting to know the dolphins. Now it was time for what would be one of the most exciting times of my vacation in Atlantis.

I laid my stomach flat on the bogie board. Then a hard rubber nose touched my foot. The dolphin that was pushing me was named Michelle. She was as sweet as could be.  Next thing I knew I was going super-fast. I was halfway to the end, I had remembered that I could lift my board up and put my arms out straight. Half the board went up in the air. It was a moment I will never forget. Inside me I was about to burst saying “wooooo!!!!” So I did. I mean who cares I was there to have the best time of my life.

Then it was picture time. The trainer called me up. “He said hug the dolphin.” In a Jamaican accent. After that, snapped his fingers, and the dolphin arched his back. “Click” I hear from the camera. Next he said “now, kiss the dolphin.” I look puzzled, but I did. I put both of my hands on his cheek and kissed him.

Over all, it was the best experience of my life; I will never ever forget it.

Have you ever wondered at night why does the sunset change color at night? You may have thought that the sun and the blue sky and the black night all form together and make one big collage of colors. Well, that’s not exactly how it happens. Today I am going to tell you how and why the sunset changes colors at night.

The sky changes colors because of the atmosphere between the sun and the earth consists of many different particles and chemicals. When light hits these particles, it’s broken up and the different wave lengths are thrown around in different directions and is called scattering.

In conclusion the sky is very cool. It has its good days and its bad. The sky can turn good colors and bad but mostly good. I hope you enjoyed my essay on “Why does the sky change color at night.”

About 70 % of the children learn across the U.S, many of them are assigned homework. Well I think mandatory homework should come to an end in some states.

I think we shouldn’t have homework because it can cause guilt to the students that don’t do it. For example, if a child has baseball, or gymnastics, or soccer, or any of that kind a stuff they will probably end up NOT doing their homework, and when he or she comes into school the next day their homework will not be completed. In addition it will make the teacher and the students feel bad.

Reason#2 why we shouldn’t have homework.

Like I said in reason#1, a child might have a sport or activity once or twice a week, and they probably won’t get home till 7:00pm or 8:00pm, or somewhere around there.  Then, he or she has to eat dinner. After that they have to do their homework, and that will prevent them from going to bed at their (regular) bed time. Also it will make them stay up late, and they will be very cranky tired grumpy etc., and I’m sure his or her teacher (or teachers) wouldn’t want to deal with A. they didn’t do their homework. B. their tired grumpy cranky etc. and c the teacher (or teachers) wouldn’t his or her “excuses.”  Plus if that kid is a good kid, then he or she SHOULD NOT be punished.

Another reason why we shouldn’t have homework is, as children get older they are assigned more homework. A lot of it requires the assistance of computers, which not everyone can afford, and I’m sure that kid wants to do their homework. But, they can’t if they don’t have a COMPUTER!  Also if they don’t do their homework (on the computer) it might reflect on his or her grade and it might cause them to have a bad grade.

Reason #4 why we shouldn’t have homework.

I’m sure many kids and teens have older or younger brothers or sister at his or her house.  Many of them are A. distracting B. annoying C. complaining and D. trying to torture them. A couple years back my older brother kept mimicking me, and that made my homework hard to do. I asked him to stop but he kept doing it, and that really got annoying.  On the other hand if he or she has a younger brother or sister they will get VERY ANNOYING.  For example: if your younger sibling is screaming, crying, running around the house, or saying your name over and over, it will be very, very, very distracting and annoying. There for making it difficult to complete his or her homework.  

Reason #5 why we shouldn’t have homework.

The work that students do these days are ALOTE different then what parents use to do, and if a child needs help with the “new” way of homework their parents probably won’t understand it. So they probably can’t help his or her child with the “new” way of homework. And I’m pretty sure that his or her parents aren’t hovering over their shoulder all day. In addition there are no teachers at home to help.

My last reason why we shouldn’t have homework is, teachers have to sit in their classroom for hours and hours grading homework, and I’m pretty sure that they don’t want to do that. Plus we need to give them a break. They work they’re butts off to teach us. And when we are at home they have to stay and grade homework, and that’s not fair. While their grading homework they could be having fun not just sitting there grading homework after homework.  A couple of my teachers said “it’s a pain in the butt grading 22 papers year after year.” Even though I’m not a teacher, I totally agree with them.

In conclusion it’s a pain in the butt to grade, it can cause guilt, there are no teachers at home to help, there are house distractions, it will make them stay up late, not everyone has computers, and they might have a sport or activity. 

I’m at that age where A LOT of kids want something totally outrageous. Mine isn’t that outrageous.  I think it’s time for you to hire me a hot butler.
 
 I know what’s on your mind right now, “no way am I getting her a hot butler.” Well before you say no, listen to my reasons why I want a hot butler.
   
 
If I had a hot butler I wouldn’t get on your nerves. For example: when you ask me to clean my room, I always say “no.” But, if I had a hot butler you could ask all you want, and he could do it for me, and all the other stuff in the house that I never do. So when you ask me to do anything that involves cleaning I can just tell my butler to do it.
 
If I had a hot butler I could go to school with him. And he could do ALL the work for me. Again I know what you’re thinking “but she wouldn’t learn if her butler did it for her.” I still would learn for your information, I just wouldn’t do the work. I would listen and pay attention, but my butler would do all the work for me. And when get home from a long boring day at school he would do my homework. Then, I could relax and not have to do a single thing my butler would do it all for me.
 
My last reason why I should have a hot butler, when I am very very comfortable and I don’t want to get up and I’m really hungry or thirsty I wouldn’t have to get up and he could get any snack I want or any drink I want so I don’t have to get up.
 
The main reason for this letter is because I am almost a teenager and life gets harder and harder as you get older. And since I’m ten I may not need one now. But I insist you get me one now.
I NEED A HOT BUTLER NOW!


HOT BUTLER SONG
 
 I got my hot butler and he’s not a juggler
Did I mention he is super duper hot?
And when he cooks that food it hits the spot
When I want something to eat

While I’m sitting in a comfy seat

I stepped out of the car, and slammed the door. I ran all the way to the shop. I opened the glass door and saw electric guitars, acoustic guitars and other stuff. I went to the right and checked out some of the guitars. They were all different colors. Some we’re red some we’re purple. There were so many different colored guitars it was like a rainbow right in front in me.  It was guitar heaven. I saw a bubblegum pink guitar I walked over to it.it looked pretty cool. Then I saw the price. It was $130.00. I hesitated for a second, then I then I realized I had enough money to buy it. I was so happy that I felt like I had just won the lottery. I ran over to my dad, and said “I have enough money to buy that guitar!” as I pointed to it. He said “maybe.”

 Then I went upstairs to get my mind off the guitar. I went to the drum part of the store, and asked for drum sticks. I started to play. That totally got my mind off the guitar. Then my dad asked me if we could go over to the keyboarding section, I said “okay.”   I wanted to go see some more stuff so I went to the DJ section; one of them was SUPER cool. It had a cup holder, a computer, and other stuff I’m not to sure of, but it seemed really cool. Then I heard someone playing the guitar downstairs.  I had totally forgotten. So I went back downstairs to look at the guitars.

  My dad came to find me and said we had to go.  As we were walking out, I asked him again if I could if I could have the guitar. Again, he said maybe. But I had a feeling I was going to get one.     

I feel the chill running up my spine, and the fear trembling inside of me. As I walked into the terrifying house, I heard the wind howling. I was petrified.  As I was walking and walking in this horrifying house I heard the floor creaking, I looked out the damaged window, I saw a possessed black cat running around on the filthy lawn. I heard a loud boom of thunder, then a bright light of lightning. I felt a fuzzy thing crawling on my arm, I looked over at my arm, and it was huge fuzzy black spider. I had run around the creaking house. Before I knew it, I had stepped into a puddle of blood!! I was TERRIFIED. I would NEVER EVER go back to that house again. Or would I?  

I was coming into school, just getting off the escalators. I was looking around thinking to myself “what should I do first?” I saw the water slide had no line, so I went down the shiny blue water slide. I was twisting and turning, it was so much fun. When the ride was finally over, I landed in the in ground pool. I saw a couple of my friends swimming on the other side of the pool.  I saw Izzy, Jade, and Jenna, playing truth or dare. I swam over where they were, it was my turn. I asked Izzy “truth or dare?” she said “dare,” so I dared her to do a roaring cannonball, and she did. Jade Jenna and I got soaked.

About ten minutes later we got out of the pool, and went on the light brown roller-coaster, called “The legend.” I sat in the back with Izzy, and Jade and Jenna sat in the front.  We we’re all so excited then it started! We went up then speeding down after that we hit a big curve, then we went up side down, then we did more loops and curves and dives. It was the best ride ever! Then we all decide to go to Hawaii. So we all raced to the teleporter. I pressed go, about five minutes later we got there. I saw beaches and ice cream stands, and palm trees. It was like going to heaven. So we went to the beach first. I started to bogie board. Then we stayed out on the sand and tanned for a little bit. After that we went to go get some ice cream. I got mango, Izzy got chocolate, and Jade and Jenna got vanilla.  For a few hours we walked around went out to lunch bought some beach stuff. Then we went to island sweets resort, (a hotel) we we’re going to stay overnight. We saw a pool, an aquarium and a massage room and a lunch room and a hot tub. Then we all checked out our room, it had four king size beds. On the other side of the room was a kitchen and a view of the ocean. About 7:00 pm, we ordered room service. Then about 10:00 pm we all went to the pool and swam till 11:00. Then we all went back to our room and went to bed we stayed up for about 20 minutes talking. Then we all fell asleep. Then the next morning we had breakfast and went to the beach then went back to the teleporter, and went home. Then we went to go watch a movie it was about 2 hours long. After that we all went to the bank, we each got 1 million dollars.  We all wanted to go watch some guys play hockey, so we did. Before we all went home we went on the personal water fall, it was the best day ever!!!!!!!!!!!
