I hope you have been enjoying a good book during your independent reading at home. There's nothing better than curling up under the covers with a fantastic story!

I would love to hear about the books people in class are reading independently. Also, good summarizing skills are essential to practice, so let's do that this week.

This Week's Prompt:

Write a summary about the book you are reading. Remember to address "who, what, where, when, and why." Once you give an overall summary, zoom in to the part you most recently read and summarize that in more detail.

Dear Ms.Kimball,
I am reading a book called "A Million Adventures." In part two of the book a girl from the future called Alice as well as some of her friends go on a trip to a planet called Penelope. The children are biologists and have come to the planet to explore a jungle. While there an adventurous boy called Pashka runs of and as Alice finds out from the store owner that sent him there Pashka left in a spaceship to a planer of knights. Alice goes after him because the kids need to leave soon. Alice disguises herself as a princess and Pashka had disguised himself as a knight. As Alice soon finds out Pashka had done a lot of trouble on this planet but the worst part is that he won a knight tournament to the champion knight. Now I will describe the most recent part I read more closely. Alice is attending a banquet because she disguised herself as the niece of the kings mother. Several knights have complaints about the knight of the red arrow which is Pashka. Alice knows that she needs to save her friend but she also knows that it will be hard to stop him from attending the tournament. But Pashka does come to the tournament ad beats the champion knight which gets the king very angry.

I really liked your response you explained the who, where, and when really well. There was a lot of detail. Your summary was really good but I’m a little bit confused about Pashka. Who sent him and why is he on the planet, does he live there? Also, what are Pashka and Alice after when they disguise themselves as a princess and knight? Finally, to push your thinking if you were Pashka would you obey Alice’s orders to not go to the tournament or would you have gone?

Dear Kate,
Thank you for asking these questions because now I see that I did not add enough detail. Pashka was looking for a place with adventures and knights so he went to a store with this really cool advertisement. The store owner then suggests to send him to a medieval planet with knights and stuff. This answers your question about who sent him there and no Pashka does not live on that planet nor on Penelope. I am a little confused by your next question but I will try to answer it as best as I can. Pashka and Alice are just kids from the future who just happen to be interested in biology. I think that if I were Pashka I would think twice before attending the tournament especially since my friend told me that I would be in danger if I attended.

Dear Class,

I'm reading Divergent by Veronica Roth. Divergent is about a girl named Beatrice who lives in a world of factions(Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, and Erudite) where you do the same the thing for your whole life. This is to keep balance of jobs and power. In the book so far Beatrice when is choosing her faction picks dauntless, the protectors of the city, instead of Abnegation where she's from. In the book now Beatrice has changed her name to Tris and has learned some basic fighting skills to complete dauntless initiation. During Tris's initiation she gets punched and hit during training and ends up in the hospital wing. Tris has by know learned that she is Divergent and is now curious about what Divergent means and what it is. Tris wants to ask her family on visiting day but doesn't trust them with the secret. This is what has happened so far to Tris in the book. So this is my summary.

I thought your summary was really good and you added a lot of detail about Beatrice. I was wonder what a faction was, I think its when you choose a job that you do for the rest of your life but I was a little confused. Also Why did Beatrice end up in the hospital wing. Did she hurt herself and if she did how?

Thank you for your feedback. First, a faction is where when you reach the age of 16 years old you choose your faction meaning you choose your career that you will do for the rest of your life. For example, Tris chose dauntless because she admired them and wanted to help people. Last, during Training Tris had to fight a Candor, faction that values honesty, kids Peter. Peter beat her so bad in training that she ends up in the hospital wing because of the amount of hits that she got. So to answer that question she had an injury in training that led her to this event. I hope this answers your questions and thank you for your feedback.

Dear class,
I read the Book “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. This book is about a girl whose name is Katniss Evergreen. Katniss lives in a place called District Twelve, where it's normal to starve to death. Every year the mayor of District 12 puts everyone's name in a bowl and picks 2 names, one girl and one boy. This custom doesn’t only happen in district 12, every other district does it too. When you are picked you are forced to fight to the death in a arena. When someone Katniss loves is drawn from the bowl Katniss automatically takes place of of her loved one. Along this journey Katniss meets the boy whose name was drawn from the bowl, his name is Peeta. Then, when Katniss, Peeta, and all the other tributes are released into the arena Peeta and Katniss are split up. When a rule changes Katniss goes to find Peeta. Then Katniss finds Peeta and they win the hunger games. Although, Katniss has also started a revolution.

Good job. I think you did a good job explaining your character's background info. I don't really understand when you wrote “When a rule changes Katniss goes to find Peeta.” What I don’t understand is why did a rule change, what rule changed, and how? Also, you explained it as they would fight to death in an arena, is this arena big or is it just one fight at a time? Also, why did Katniss start a revolution!?! I think this book sounds interesting and it sounds awesome!

Dear Jacob,
To answer your first part of your first question, I have no clue on why the rules changed. If I were to guess I would say that it's because the people who made the games wanted it to be over with more quickly. Then the answer to the second part is the rule changed by only having one winner, to now you can have two winners.
The answer to your second question is the arena is huge and there are 24 people who were chosen to fight in the arena. All these people are put in the arena and are either forced to survive in the harsh environment, or fight to the death.
Lastly, Katniss started a revolution by standing up to the capital. The capital is basically the boss of her district.
(P.S If you want more of an answer you will have to read the book!)

Dear Class,

I am reading "Lair of Dreams" by Libba Bray. In the book the characters are Evie, Sam, Henry, Ling, Jericho, Memphis, and Theta. All of these characters except Jericho all are diviners. Diviners are people who have powers, Evie can see the past of objects, Sam can make people go into a trance, Henry and Ling can walk in their dreams except Ling can talk to the dead, and Theta can manipulate fire, and Memphis can heal people. This book is set in the 1970-1990 I don't really know what time it is but i'm guessing it is between those times. The book takes place in New York City and there is a "sleeping sickness" that gives people blisters all over their body and parts of the book (in POV of non important characters) where things in their dream become very veil and creepy and start chanting "Dream with me, Dream with me" until the dreamer either gives in or wakes up. I think that that is the sleeping sickness because after every part where someone hears that, the next part there is someone reading the news and sees that, that person died to the sleeping sickness.

From what I have read recently, Henry and Ling find out that a soul that they talk to every time they dream walk is the thing causing the sleeping sickness. Also, Memphis's brother can see bits into the future and when he saw something, he saw a subway with monsters and evil creatures in it. When all of the people get together, Memphis thought of a plan that half of the group goes into the subway and get Evie to read and object so they can find out more of the past. This is where I stopped reading and I am going to read the rest of the book later.

Your first question is a bit unclear because you said "do all these people now each" and I didn't understand that. Your second question is a yes, the book is in different perspectives every chapter. Also, your third question is that every time that they dream walked they talked to a person named Wai Mai and then they found out that she was a soul that was dead but was terrorizing people by making them get sick with the sleeping sickness.

Dear Ms. Kimball,

I’m doing my summary on a book I recently finished; The Son of Neptune by: Rick Riordan. This book is the second one in a series called Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It doesn’t make sense unless you know what happened in the past books so I will give you an overview of the series so far. All the gods have a roman form and a greek form, these gods have children with mortals called demigods. There are two demigod camps, one roman one greek. Neither know about each other but they are the only two places on earth that are a safe haven for demigods. Out in the open demigods attract too many monsters. Gaea, an evil goddess is awakening, the gods know that to defeat her they must unite the two camps. To do so, the goddess Hera takes the two leaders from the camps erases their memories and put them in the other camp. These leaders, Percy Jackson and Jason Grace, wake up not knowing who they are or where they come from. They will learn to trust the other camp and eventually they will remember where they come from. Then, they will be able to unite the camps and collectively send 7 demigods to defeat Gaea as it calls for in the great prophecy. The first book was about Jason's journey, and the second was about Percy. The book ends when the greeks come to the roman camp to decide which demigods will fulfill the prophecy of 7. After a senate meeting and some debate between the camps it is decided that Piper, Percy, Leo and Annabeth from the greek camp and Jason, Hazel, and Frank from the roman camp will fulfill this prophecy. I’m about to start the third book where these seven demigods will go on a quest to defeat Gaea and will most likely encounter many monsters and gods they will have to defeat or seek help from along the way.

Great summary! The Percy Jackson-esque series can be very confusing to follow, especially with all of the characters and action, but you did a nice job generalizing it all enough so that someone who hasn't read the series can understand the overall picture.

As expected, there seems to be many characters for readers to follow. You mentioned the seven demigods who are going to fulfill a prophecy. What are they like? Do they get along with each other or are there different rivalries? Do any of them have weaknesses that could jeopardize the mission to defeat Gaea?

Thank you! I love this series. Although you are right sometimes it can be confusing. As for your questions the seven demigods are Percy, Annabeth, Leo, Piper, Jason, Frank, and Hazel. They do get along pretty well especially with people from the same camp as them (greek, and roman). Some problems with them working together is that Leo feels like a seventh wheel because the other six are dating one another. Also, some demigods don’t trust the others on their quest, this is a big problem because trust is necessary when they are all working together. For example, Leo and Frank are rivals and don’t like to confide in one another. Which brings me to your next question. The main rivalries on the quest are with Leo, and Frank, and well as Jason, and Percy. Leo and Frank's rivalry is complicated. It revolves around Hazel though. Hazel died in the 1940’s and was brought back to life by Nico another child of Hades. In her first life she had a bestfriend named Sammy who is an ancestor of Leo. Frank doesn't like this because he feels threatened by Leo. Leo is humorous and sometimes makes jokes at Frank’s expense because Frank is much bigger and stronger than him and that makes Leo feel threatened. Both boys feel threatened by the other! That rivalry is difficult to understand because of all the different characters involved. Next, Percy and Jason have an ongoing rivalry fro much simpler reasons. They just both feel like they are the leaders of the quest, and need to protect everyone. Lastly, all of them have weaknesses that could jeopardize the mission to defeat Gaea. This is because all demigods have a fatal flaw. A fatal flaw is something they will most likely die because of one day. For each demigod it is different for Annabeth it is pride, for Percy it’s loyalty. These sound like great qualities right? Well, in desperate situations these traits could kill them. It is crucial for all of the seven to survive to win the war against Gaea.

Dear Class,
I have been reading the book, “The Battle of the Labyrinth,” which is part of the Percy Jackson Series. So far, the Titan’s are evil and have been rising, while the gods have been trying to prevent a war against the titans, it’s been very difficult. Percy, Annabeth, Tyson, and Grover, the main characters and trying to help the gods, set out into the labyrinth, an underground maze that is deceiving, but if you get it to work for you and not against you, you can get anywhere very speedily. The way to do this is to find the workshop of Daedalus, the creator of the maze, and get him to help you. This is what the Titan’s army is trying to do, and Percy, Annabeth, Tyson, and Grover are trying to stop them. So far, they have gotten deep into the maze, but they have no idea where in the United States they are.

Thank you for your feedback and I will try to answer all of your questions, even though the characters have a lot of confusing backstories. First, the titans are the older immortal spirits who the gods defeated in the 1st war, about 1,000 years ago, and the gods put them into various punishments. Kronos, the leader of the titans is rising, and planning to take over the gods. Second, Percy, the main character, is a half-blood, so is Annabeth, which means they have one mortal parent, a normal person, and an immortal parent, a god. Tyson is a cyclops, a one-eyed, tall, human-like character. Also, Grover is a satyr, a half human half goat character. All of them go to to Camp Half-Blood, which is for half-bloods, but other species such as tyson and Grover are allowed there. Camp Half-Blood has magical borders that keep the half-bloods inside safe from monsters and evil spirits. Third, the labyrinth is an underground maze and the Titans want to get through it so they can get into Camp Half-Blood to make war. Percy, Annabeth, Tyson, and grover are trying to stop them to protect their friends back at Camp Half-Blood. I hope that made sense and thank you for giving me that feedback.

I have been reading The Hunger Games. In the book there is a girl named katniss, who gets chosen to participate in the games, and a boy named peeta who also gets chosen. In the games there are 24 participants who have to battle eachother to death. The last on standing is the winner. Right now katniss just found out that peeta and her can join a team and win TOGETHER! She sets out and tryes to find peeta, when she does he is in very bad shape, and katniss dosent know if he will survive

While Peeta hurt his leg and posibly has blood poisoning also origianally Prim was chosen byt Katniss couldent watch her sister die, so she took her place. Also every year for the games every child at the age g12-17 gets their name put into a bowl and then they pick from the bowl. And yes I do think Katniss will help Peeta survive.

Just last night I finished Wings of Fire: The brightest night. It is my new favorite book!!!!!!! It is so action packed. But on to the summery. In the story, Sunny is the 2nd person. Sunny follows some nightwings that have an object called the obsidian mirror. But when the nightwings lead her to the Scorpion Den, she finds her Mom, the leader of the Den. But yet another scheme occurs: she gets bargained to Burn's strong hold. But eventually, she gets the fighting sisters into one room. I don't want to spoil much, but two die and one learns, that she bows down to a new queen. That's basically what happened in my story.

Great summary! There are a few spots that need improvement, though. You could explain a little background so people get a sense of what's going on. Also, you could explain Who Burn is, and what Nightwings are, so people who haven't read the series get a better sense of the story in general. Thanks for the feedback. I'm sorry about the confusion. Queen Burn is one of the three sisters who are battling for control of the sandwing tribe throne. there are different tribes of dragons; such as the sand wings and night wings. Nightwings are completely black dragons who can have secret superpowers. Also, what I mean by the "second person" thing is that there are three different points of view in life. 1st person is a narrator, 2nd is the actual character talking, and 3rd is a cross, like instead of you saying "I" or "He", you would say, "Thomas H is going to the supermarket." (Thomas H would be saying that).

Dear Class,

Here is my RRB. I am reading a book called Into the Wild by Erin Hunter.
Rusty is a completely and utterly ordinary house cat. He doesn't think there is anything special about him. Then one day, out of curiosity he goes out to explore the forest he lives near, and finds that there are a bunch of wild cats who live there that need help fighting a formidable enemy (a rival bunch of wild cats) that lives nearby - and their leader, Bluestar, suspects that help will come from Rusty. So Rusty joins the group of wild cats who live there and is renamed Firepaw. That is all I have read so far. Most recently Firepaw was out exploring the place that the wild cats live and stumbles across a cat from the rival group of cats. I wonder what will happen to the rival cat (whose name is Yellowfang, by the way) and what will happen to Firepaw.

Dear Wyatt,

Thanks! I’m glad you liked my response. Rusty was renamed Firepaw because his fur is the color of fire, and it sticks up in the shape of flames. I don’t know how the rival teams formed, but the two teams became rivals when the evil team started stealing some of the good team’s food and constantly accusing the good team of things they did not do.

Dear Ms. K,
the book I am reading is called Flyte. It is the second book in the Septimus Heap series. It is about a boy named Septimus, who is the Apprentice to the ExtraOrdinary Wizard, Marcia. Sep's sister, Jenna, is kidnapped by simon Heap the oldest Heap and the Darke one. The first half of the book is about Jenna trying to escape and Marcia has a Darke Shadow following her around. Simon learns the long lost art of Flyte, and right now in the story a man who has been trying to help Marcia trap her Shadow gives her bones that are the old Necromancers, DomDaniel, who is very Darke. these bones could possibly kill Marcia.

Thanks for the feedback. To answer your question, Jenna was kidnapped because Simon turned evil, or in this book called Darke. Jenna is the princess, and everyone on the Darke side wants her dead. I am sorry that my summary was confusing.

I read further in the book and I found out that the main character's name is Suzy Swazon. Suzy's depression doesn't stop her from doing everyday things. However, when she's at school or anywhere she doesn't talk at all. She also is very gloomy and is not social at school. She chose jellyfish because the day after her best friend died Suzy’s class took a field trip to a aquarium and Suzy ventured away from the group and found a dark room filled with jellyfish. Than she began to wonder what happened her best friend. Dr. legs does not help because she is talking in a baby voice and not asking Suzy what happened. I think if I were Suzy this would not help at all.

Dear Ms.kimball,

For and independent reading book I am reading The Thing About Jelly Fish. In the first few chapters the main character finds out her best friend is dead. The main character's best friend, Franny goes on a vacation to Maryland. Soon enough, she is swimming on the beach having a great time and all of a sudden, she drowned. When the main character finds this out she wishes she could turn back the clock and start over because they got into a big fight before her best friend died. The main character is so sad and depressed, she just wants her best friend back. However, her parents take her grief and depression very seriously. They decide to send her to a counselor specialized in helping kids with depression. When the main character is forced to see the counselor, Dr.legs it does not help at all.
Back at school the main character is assigned a science homework project, to research a topic and make a presentation. The main character decides to do jellyfish. When she starts taking notes about them and diving deeper into the topic, she finds that jellyfish sting 5 people every second. This information is important to the main character because, she thinks that her best friend was brought down because of jellyfish.

Dear class,

Recently I have been reading "Frindle". I think over all it was great book. Anyway what happens in "Frindle" is a boy named Nick Allen hears from his teacher "Who say's dog means dog. You do Nick". After hearing that Nick decides to make up a word, and the word ends up to be frindle another word for pen. After a few tests Nick was able to get kids in his school to say frindle, and have his teacher make people stay after school for saying it. After a local news station puts the fuss on a local news paper then things get worse. first of all another news place shows it to CBS in Boston, then CBS in Boston shows it CBS in New York, then CBS New York puts it on their national news, then people who host TV shows see it and Nick becomes famous. What I mean is Nick goes TV shows gets a fund for his trade mark, but by the end of his school year the whole frindle dies down in Nicks town. 10 years later frindle becomes a real word and Nick and his teacher well get gifts from one another.

Dear Class,

I am reading Fablehaven by Brandon Mull. I am on book three: Grip of The Shadow Plague. To give a basic idea if what's happening, I will summarize the beginning, a girl named Kendra and her younger brother Seth discover that their grandfather is the caretaker of a preserve for magical creatures. In book three, Grip of The Shadow Plague, A mysterious disease is spreading across the preserve and is turning magical creatures dark and evil. As far as I have read, Seth consulted a demon named Graulas who reveals that the plague might have something to do with a demon named Kurisock. Meanwhile, Kendra is out to retrieve an artifact hidden on another preserve far away. Kendra finds out that the artifact has been moved to fablehaven and returns to Fablehaven. Afterwards, a visit to an abandoned mansion reveals that a ghostly woman named Ephira may have been involved with the plague.

To answer your first question, Kendra went after the artifact because she was recruited by an organization called the Knights of Dawn. This also happened before kendra knew about the disease.
For your second question, Kendra and Seth found out about Fablehaven in the first book.

I have been reading the book Max by Jennifer Li Shotz. I have not finished the book yet but it is so good. Justin and his older brother used to play a war game on the computer until Justin's older brother, Kyle, goes into war. Then, in Afghanistan Kyle dies. The only thing he left behind was his highly trained canine, Max. Over the book they build a relationship. I recommended this book to some that likes adventure books.

My first question is, who was Max originally? Was he a work dog, a service dog, a therapy dog, etc.? How does that affect Max's relationship with Justin?

My second question is, why did Justin "build a relationship" with Max? How did their relationship change? And why do you think the relationship was so successful?

Dear Ellie,
Max was a war dog and Kyle was his owner. Max sniffs out bombs and guns. Justin had to clam down the dog or else he would get put down and that created a relationship. At the beginning Max wouldn't even let Justin touch him. Later on the could walk side by side without a leach. From the beginning Justin was the only one that could give Max a command, not even the marines. I think that the reason why was because Max loved Kyle and Justin is his brother so that means that Justin is the only thing like Kyle.

Dear Class,

I have been reading the book, Belly Up. In the book recently, the main character, Teddy has been investigating on who killed Henry. Henry is a hippo at a zoo and is also their mascot! Along the way he meets a girl whose father owns that zoo and is a multi-billionaire. She likes Henry and is trying to figure out who killed him. In the most recent part I read, Teddy and the girl figure out who the murderer is, but the person who gave them the final clues has a bad past with Henry. They thought something was up when the guy said “Just to be clear I did not kill Henry, so don’t think it's me!” So they are kind of clueless on what to do next. Should they believe that guy or just keep investigating?!

First I would like to say good job on your summary, you added just the right amount of detail so it wasn’t a retell.
I have a few questions about your summary. First, why does the girl like Teddy? Is it his personality, looks, or just because? Another question is why does Teddy want to find out who killed the Henry? Is there some backstory to it? Also, what happened in the past between the guy who gave Teddy his final clues. My final question would be what would you do if if you were in Teddy’s point of view?
(P.S I think they should keep investigating!)

Dear Emma,

Thank you for your feedback. It never explicitly says why but I think it's because his personality such as daring, brave and so on. Also, the girl loves animals and Teddy lived in Africa for almost 7 years. Teddy wants to find the killer because Henry the hippo is actually the zoo’s mascot and Teddy just loves sneaking around and finding the answers beneath the surface point of view of others. So, Teddy and the guy have no background other than the guy used to be a clown and train Henry but, Henry bit him. So, when the guy heard Teddy and the girl where looking for help he offered some. If I were in Teddy point of view I would finish the mystery and find out who did it. So yes I would probably keep investigating.

Dear ms kimball,

I am writing a summary about diary of a wimpy kid
The main character is Greg Heffley and he lives in a house with his mom dad obnoxious little brother and an annoying big brother. Greg goes to school with his friend Rowley. Rowley is Greg's friend but he says that he acts like a 2nd grade girl. Greg hates middle school because in the book it says “middle school is the worst invention ever”. Greg likes to take naps but not as much as his big brother Rodrick. Speaking of Rorick, Rodrick has this very awful band that Greg and his dad can’t stand so they usually just go to the mall or something. In conclusion the book is about Greg’s life as a normal middle schooler.

Dear class,

I am reading Wings of Fire, The Lost Heir. In the book Tsunami, who is a Sea Wing, is convinced if they go to the sea kingdom, she will find her mother. She also hopes that he mother, queen Coral, will protect her friends. the reason they need cover is because they are the Dragonets of Destiny. They are suppose to stop the great war. They go to queen Coral for protection because they here she is a very merciful queen. Tsunami finds the reunion she always dreamed of under the mountain. She also finds out she has a sister. So far her reunion with her family is going exactly as she dreamed. That is my summary.

I think you did a good job saying what was happening and explaining why, but you told your summary as if who was reading it had read some of either the book you summarized or read the first book in the "Wings of Fire" series. For example you said "Tsunami, who is a sea wing," people might not know what exactly a sea wing is, but good job on stating who Tsunami is. Another thing that adds to people don't always know everything unless someone is reading "Wings of Fire" they probably don't know what "Dragonets of Destiny" are.

Also not trying to be a annoying person who points out the typos, and starts acting all annoying about it, but you did make a typo at one point you said "That he mother..." most likely meaning "That her mother...".

Finally what the heck do you mean by "reunion under the mountain."? this is one other thing that adds to people not knowing everything. I thought this was under the sea not a mountain. Is the mountain under the sea.

Other than a few mistakes you were really able to say everything that happened

Thank you for the feedback. All of it was very useful. To answer your questions, the Dragonets of Destiny are 5 dragonets in a prophecy. A dragonet is a dragon who has not grown to full size. The Talons of Peace really care about the prophecy. The prophecy is about 5 dragonets born on the brightest night. Their mission is to end the great war by choosing the next sanding queen. A sanding is a dragon who lives in the desert. The Talons are the peace gathering group in the great war. They really want to be sure the prophecy comes true. So they take things to an extreme measure,the Talons of Peace lock up the dragonets under a mountain near the sky kingdom to keep the dragonets safe. That leads in to your second question-Tsunami dreamed about having a reunion with her mother, when she was under the mountain. Remember the dragonets where not allowed to leave the cave because Tsunami did not get to meet her family nor did the other dragonets. and Tsunami is a Dragonet of Destiny. Dear Class,
I am reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. So far Harry was escorted out of his uncle's house. They were traveling by broom. When they got into the air they were surrounded by death eaters (The bad guys). They barely escaped and after that was Harry's friend Ron's older brother's wedding. There were also death eaters invading that. After the wedding Harry, Hermione, and Ron set off to destroy horcruxes so they could kill Voldemort The Big bad guy. Horcruxes are parts of a person's soul kept in a object. A couple of weeks in Ron left because they had little food and he was starving. Lately, Harry and Hermione have gone to Godric's Hallow (Harry Old house's village) to look for the sword of Grfyindor. They didn't find it but Voldemort came and they barley escaped once again. Lately it has been Winter and they have been living in the woods and Harry was outside. He came across a pond and he saw the sword of Gryfindor in it. He made a hole in it and he jumped in the freezing water. He would have died if Ron hadn't found him and saved him. The destroyed a horcruxe with it and that's were I stopped reading.

Sorry but I am very very confused. First of all why did he get escorted from his Uncles house? Second you could have been a little more clear on what the sword of Gryfindor is exactly. Third what do you mean by Harrys Old house's village I really did not get that. Lastly I dont understand what happend at the end did Harry freeze and why did he go into a pond in winter?

I am sorry that I confused you. Harry got escorted from his uncles house because he is wanted and his friends didn't want him to be killed. Secondly, The sword of gryfindor is a sword made by goblins that belonged to one of the founders of Hogwarts. Lastly, Harry went into the freezing water to get the sword of gryfindor which some how got in there.

Dear Class,

I am restarting the warriors series from the beginning to the end. I sort of just started it but here we go. In the warriors book the main character in the story is a cat named Rusty who lives with Twolegs which in this case are humans. Rusty dreams he was out in the wild hunting a mouse but then he wakes up from the dream before he catches the mouse. Then one day Rusty decided to go into the forest and finds a cat from a so called clan at first Rusty has no idea what a “clan” is and this cats name is Graypaw and Rusty and Graypaw are friends from the beginning they meet and then Grawpaw’s trainer another cat but a warrior Lionheart and the leader Bluestar. These cats are all from ThunderClan and Rusty gets welcomed into the clan. At first the other cats hate him and yell at him but then Rusty attacks a cat trainer to be a warrior and wins with the other cat backing down. This is when Rustys collar breaks and Rusty gets his warrior name “Firepaw” for the fire like fur. This is where I am at at the moment so I dont know much more.

Your response was good because you didn’t make to long (A retelling). But I did notice that after like half of it, it started getting confusing and harder to follow. If you could make it more the clear that would be great. Also, why are the other cats hate rusty and yell at him? And, what do think the reason is that the other cats stopped hating and yelling at rusty? Did something change? Those are my questions for you.

I am sorry it was hard to follow along so I will fix that. First of all, all the clan cats hate Rusty and yell at Rusty because Rusty is a kittypet. Which means Rusty is owned by humans which is usaly not something you want in a clan. And no Willie something did not change.
