Students worked in small groups to create news reports about the main causes of the American Revolution. Each group researched their assigned event, wrote a detailed script, performed, and recorded their reports. Check out their great work below.

Our fifth grade Open House was on Wednesday, June 7th. Students shared their citizenship work with parents, giving little "elevator pitches" about their chosen causes and charitable organizations. Great job, 5th graders! Student musicians then performed three impressive pieces in the concert band led by Mr. Davis. What talent! And finally, the entire fifth grade sang four moving pieces in the chorus led by Mrs. Hodge. Congratulations to all for a great night, and thank you to parents for all of your support! For this fun homework project, students created an imaginary creature with unique adaptations. They drew a picture of their creature, wrote an informational text describing its adaptations, and wrote a poem about how cool their creature is. Check out some of students' work below. For this engaging homework project, students interviewed a family member about their actions and beliefs toward global citizenship. Students then created artwork to raise awareness about an issue and researched three organizations that work to help important causes. Below is some great student artwork. Our fun research project in Science had students exploring the climates of 3 different locations and creating an informational poster to present their learning. Check out students' Climate Tour Posters below. For this homework project, students came up with 10 rights they believe every human should have. They created a mini book to showcase these rights. They also created artwork that expresses what it means to be human. Check out some exemplary work below. To learn about the Water Cycle, students worked in cooperative groups to research and present about "the story of water as it journeys through the water cycle." Students worked in teams to create models of earth and observe water cycling. Here are some pictures of kids in action. Check out our 2nd class newsletter.
